BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - A 10-year-old girl was transported to Jane Phillips Medical Center Thursday afternoon after she was hit by a truck while riding her bike.

Bartlesville Police Department Capt. Scott Owen said the accident occurred at around 3:13 p.m. at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Cudahy Street.

Reportedly the girl was riding east on Cudahy with a number of other children when she rode past the yield sign onto Sante Fe Avenue where she was struck by southbound pickup truck.

According to police, the girl's bike did not have brakes.

The truck knocked her off her bike, causing her to receive among other injuries a broken arm and leg.

Owen said the girl after being transported to JPMC was sent to Tulsa with a possible skull fracture.

At this time her condition is unknown said Owen.

"Right now, there have been no charges filed and the investigation is still underway," said Owen.
