Rotary students of the month

Bartlesville High School juniors Daniel Sauceda and Makayla Jackson have been named the Rotary Students of the Month for May.

Daniel is the son of Baldomero and Patricia Sauceda. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, the BHS student council, the BHS Spanish Club and K-Life Ministries. He is a member of the St. John’s youth group as well. Daniel’s interests include playing the guitar, playing church league basketball and exercising. He was a member of the Bartlesville Mid-High School team which competed in the 2008 Team America Rocketry Challenge last summer. He works at the Kumon Math and Reading Center.

Makayla is the daughter of Michelene and Dr. Timothy Jackson. She is a member of the BHS varsity girls basketball team, the National Honor Society, the BHS varsity track squad and the GFB Church Submission Praise Dance Team. Makayla is active with the National Society of High School Scholars and the Women of Destiny Leadership Program with KAA Camps. An avid reader, she is a member of the BHS Principal’s Honor Roll.

The Rotary students of the month , both seniors and juniors are eligible , are chosen by a committee of BHS teachers. The students should be of high moral character, have initiative, show leadership capabilities, be good students, and be active and interested in their school and community. One boy and one girl are selected each month from September through May.
