A Bartlesville man faces multiple charges after he allegedly attacked law enforcement officers and attempted to bite a nurse following his arrest Monday on drug and traffic charges.
Cameron Blake Black, 18, faces charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana, throwing or placing bodily fluids on a government employee and assault on a police officer, among other charges.
During a hearing held Wednesday at the Washington County Courthouse, the judge set his bond at $150,000.
According to the affidavit, the incident began shortly before 10 p.m. Monday when state troopers, responding to a call from the Washington County Sheriff's Office concerning an injury accident occuring on County Road 2400 west of County Road 4010, arriving at the scene of the accident spoke to a woman who claimed she was driving the vehicle when she ran off the road, over-corrected and struck a tree.
Troopers questioning her further learned she was not the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident. She admitted Black was driver, said the report.
Troopers then speaking with Black noticed he smelled strongly of marijuana and showed numerous signs of being under its influence. After conducting a number of sobriety tests on Black, due to his "growing agitation," the troopers placed Black in handcuffs. They then spoke with him, encouraging him to tell them the truth about the accident as he earlier had said he was only a passenger. Troopers told him they found marijuana seeds and brass knuckles in the vehicle, according to the report.
Black, after asking the troopers if he would still go to jail if he told the truth and hearing he would, began cursing and "getting very agitated" at which point troopers placed him under arrest, said the report.
Then as troopers attempted to guide him to a patrol car for transport, he began pulling away and as he was being set in the car "began fighting back" and kneed one of the troopers in the groin. He continued kicking and kneeing the trooper as he was being forced into the car. Black then spat in the trooper's face, bit the trooper's hand and then attempted to bite the trooper on the back of the arm, the report said.
Black continued to be combative kicking the trooper until the deputy on hand stunned Black with a Taser.
Troopers then learning a vehicle with cage was on its way removed Black from the patrol car and placed him on the ground until the vehicle arrived and transported him to Jane Phillips Medical Center.
According to the affidavit, as Black was being transported to the hospital he repeatedly slammed his head into the cage and screamed profanities. He became combative again as he was in the emergency room, continuing to scream and tried to bite a nurse as she attempted to draw blood.
The affidavit said at one point Black became so aggressive it took a trooper, three deputies, a police officer "along with three to four ER staff" to be able to control him.
During this struggle, Black spat blood in the face of a police officer restraining him, said the report.
Black's next scheduled court appearance is set for Feb. 19.
