Bartlesville High School seniors Kelsey Cochran and Kevin Knight have been named the Rotary Students of the Month for February.
Kelsey is the daughter of Craig and Terri Cochran. The vice president of the BHS varsity pom squad, she is a member of the BHS student council, the National Honor Society and K-Life Ministries. As a sophomore at the Bartlesville Mid-High School, Kelsey served as the president of the Spanish Club and was a member of the Mid-High Art Club as well.
A member of the First United Methodist Church of Bartlesville, Kelsey has taken mission trips to Galveston, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana. An East Regional Dance Team selection, she enjoys writing, baking and her dog, Sadie.
Kevin is the son of Nick and Kala Knight. A two-time state letterman with the BHS varsity swimming team, he is a Capitan Committee member. Kevin is a member of the National Honor Society and is on the BHS honor roll as well.
Kevin is on the leadership team with the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church youth group and is a weekly Vision Onward volunteer, committing more than 100 hours of his time to the program. He is a founding member of the Christian Community Service organization known as Mission on Bartlesville (M.O.B.). Kevin is an active member of K-Life Ministries.
The Rotary students of the month – both seniors and juniors are eligible – are chosen by a committee of BHS teachers. The students should be of high moral character, have initiative, show leadership capabilities, be good students, and be active and interested in their school and community. One boy and one girl are selected each month from September through May.
